Even if someone tried to access our storage systems, they wouldn’t be able to read your files without the special key. Encryption in Transit

Your files are also protected while they travel from your device to our servers. We use trusted encryption (the kind banks use) to make sure no one can sneak a peek or intercept your documents on the way. When you see the padlock icon in your browser, you’ll know your connection is private and secure.

It all starts with your login. We protect your account with a secure username and password setup.

Two-Step Verification

Your password is strong - but why stop there? Two-Step Verification adds an extra lock on the door. Even if someone has your password, they can’t access your account without confirming it’s really you.

How to switch it on:

Go to Settings under your profile, open the Security section, and click Create under Two-Step Verification. You’ll be asked to connect an authenticator app -  this is a small, free app (like Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator) that generates a special 6-digit code on your phone. This type of code is called a TOTP (Time-Based One-Time Password) because it changes every 30 seconds.

Once enabled, every time you log in you’ll enter your password and the unique code from your authenticator app - making sure only you can access your account.

It takes just a few moments to set up and gives you lasting peace of mind that your most important documents are safe, always.

Session Tokens with Timestamps

When you log in to Docaroo, you start a “session,” which is just the time you stay signed in. For your safety, these sessions automatically end after a set time. This means if you forget to log out or leave your device unattended, no one else can get into your account without signing in again.

Dual Token System

We use two types of “keys” to manage your login:

• Short-lived keys that expire quickly to reduce any risk if someone tries to get into your account.

• Longer-lived keys that keep you signed in securely, so you don’t have to enter your password every single time.

This balance keeps your account safe while making sure it’s still quick and easy for you to log in.

Secure Sharing, Made Simple

With Docaroo, sharing your documents is always safe. Every shared file is protected with two-channel sharing and password encryption - so only the right person can open it.

Here’s how it works:

1. Send the document link to the recipient’s email address.

2. Share the password separately via your preferred channel - like via WhatsApp or SMS.

Even if you accidentally send the link to the wrong email, no one can access it without the password.

Need to set a time limit? You can choose an expiry date for the link or revoke access instantly - whenever you decide.
